Fundamental Skills Clinical Nursing Instructor (Part-Time)

About the role

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking a part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty member to mentor BSN students in an inpatient clinical setting in the Tinley Park, IL area. The role bridges classroom and simulation learning with real-world patient care. No teaching experience is required; nurses with solid clinical experience and a completed MSN are encouraged to apply.

Scheduling depends on course need and clinical specialty for each 8-week session, typically 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks. Pay ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education, experience and other factors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students directly.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments, give documented feedback and make remediation available.
• Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments and clinical paperwork in a timely way.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical site policies and procedures with clinical site personnel and stay visible at the site.
• Contribute to program and College development, including the assessment program, retention efforts and policies.
• May teach simulation/skills lab and/or didactic content under the course coordinator's supervision.
• Act as a professional role model, collaborate with administration and faculty, and report student and agency issues to the course coordinator and the dean or assistant dean.

Required profile

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• At least 2 years of nursing practice as a registered nurse in the last five years.
• Professional nurse licensure in the State of Illinois required.
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.
