Payroll Tax Analyst

About the role
Starbucks is looking for a Payroll Tax Analyst to join its tax team. You will support tax compliance for more than 280,000 partners across the United States and Canada, handling a variety of recurring tax tasks and ad‑hoc projects.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and file multi‑state and provincial payroll tax payments, returns, and reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Collect and analyze data for tax authority inquiries, audits, and appeals, ensuring timely and organized responses.
- Run system audits to verify data integrity and support tax controversy resolution.
- Assist in planning and implementing tax planning projects and participate in system testing activities.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience with multi‑state and provincial payroll tax compliance, including payment, reconciliation, and filing.
- Strong analytical, technical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using SAP Employee Central Payroll (SAP ECP), including jurisdiction mapping, rule parameters, and validations.
