Patient Transporter – Full Time

About the role

The Patient Transporter (U) ensures safe, timely, and courteous movement of patients and visitors throughout UHealth Tower, creating a positive first impression and supporting overall patient satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients and visitors between units, ancillary areas, admissions and discharge, remaining attentive until hand‑off.
• Verify patient identity using name, DOB and armband while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor patient condition during transport, reporting oxygen, IV or comfort issues to nursing staff.
• Assist at the main lobby, greet patients and coordinate transport assignments.
• Maintain clear hallways, store equipment properly, and report defective equipment.
• Participate in emergency drills, follow infection‑control protocols, and use PPE as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum six months of hospital courier or similar experience preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure.
• Commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality and university core values.
