Patient Transporter – Ensure Safe Patient Movement

About the role
The Patient Transporter ensures that patients are moved safely and efficiently between their inpatient beds and various hospital departments such as admissions, surgery, therapy, and radiology. The role supports clinical workflow by retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Transport patients to and from designated areas while adhering to safety protocols.
- Retrieve and deliver medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications.
- Prioritize tasks to maintain smooth department flow.
- Maintain, clean, and inspect transportation equipment daily.
- Monitor the proper functioning of all transportation equipment each day.
- Communicate with clinical staff to coordinate transport timing and patient needs.
- Follow infection control and patient safety procedures throughout the transport process.
- Complete transport logs and demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette when coordinating moves.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work a full‑time schedule of five 8‑hour days.
- Good communication and organizational abilities.
