Patient Safety Attendant

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Patient Safety Attendant for its Shawnee Mission facility in Kansas. The position works day shifts from 6:45 am to 7:15 pm and supports nursing staff with patient care logistics and safety on the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with transporting patients, delivering equipment and supplies, transporting specimens and delivering patient trays
• Answer phones and assist visitors when not providing direct patient observation
• Intervene to prevent patient self-harm or harm to others and seek immediate assistance for escalating incidents
• Respect patient rights to privacy and confidentiality
• Create clear and accurate documentation of patient status and activities during the shift
• Promote positive patient interactions and advocate for patients and family-centered care

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent (required)
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a physician office or other healthcare-related environment (preferred)
• 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required)
