Patient Registration - Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a revenue cycle technology company, is hiring a Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension St. Agnes Hospital Seton Imaging Center in Baltimore. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration with speed and compassion. The shift is PRN, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 on-call hours; additional shifts are available. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
