About the role

The Patient Experience Specialist serves as a bridge between patients, families, and the health system, ensuring concerns and complaints are addressed promptly and compassionately. This full‑time position supports a peaceful healing environment within the University of Miami Health System.

Key responsibilities

• Provide service‑excellence support to patients, families, and staff, creating positive, memorable experiences.
• Perform daily patient rounds, document confidential feedback, and act as a liaison via phone or in‑person.
• Escalate complex complaints to senior specialists and follow up on resolutions.
• Utilize conflict‑resolution skills and active listening to address sensitive situations.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to team goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Commitment to University core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
