Patient Care Technician – Part-time

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse at the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinic. This part‑time position supports patient comfort, performs nurse aide duties, and handles clerical tasks such as transcribing provider orders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a variety of patient care activities and nurse aide skills within scope of practice.
• Accurately transcribe and process provider orders and written information.
• Communicate information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Facilitate patient flow by transferring and discharging patients in the system promptly.
• Maintain schedules to enhance team performance and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct moderate point‑of‑care testing following CLIA guidelines.

Required profile

• Certification as Nursing Assistant I (Cert Nursing Asst I).
• General Education Degree or equivalent.
• Preferred experience with medical terminology and patient care environments.
