Patient Care Nursing Assistant – Gastroenterology/Hepatology

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Digestive Disease Institute as a Patient Care Nursing Assistant on the G100 Gastroenterology and Hepatology unit. You will support patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions, providing direct care under RN supervision during a day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Measure vital signs, weight, and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, transfers, and transport.
• Perform pulse oximetry, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to the RN.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) within the new‑hire period.
• Military medical experience (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician) considered.
• Physical ability to lift/move patients and perform moderate physical work.
