Patient Assistance Advocate (Pharmacy Technician)

About the role

A remote position working with patients and clinics to make medications more affordable by providing financial assistance. The role covers submitting assistance applications, handling patient inquiries and supporting pharmacy operations, with less than 25% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Submit financial assistance applications for AON patients and follow up on submitted PAP requests for updates
• Assist patients with financial assistance through manufacturers and foundations, and follow them through the process, submitting renewals when needed
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls and emails, route calls, answer questions about delivery status and Rx updates, schedule deliveries and follow up on orders
• Provide backup to pharmacy staff, including PA, SP follow-ups, BV and claims adjudication as needed
• Keep up on applicable training and education to maintain the permit, and give PAP training to new hires
• Follow up daily to find out which grants and foundations have available funds

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• At least two years' experience as a pharmacy technician in retail, specialty or hospital pharmacy preferred; medical terminology and attention to detail required
• Valid state driver's license and compliance with the company driver safety policy and motor vehicle records check
• Ability to work remotely and in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
