Patient Access Representative – Full‑time (Doral)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in downtown Doral is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 1. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and smooth appointment scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration and verify insurance information.
• Collect and scan insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA policies and obtain signed forms.
• Guide patients through required questionnaires and schedule, cancel, or edit appointments.
• Record no‑show patients and reconcile vouchers for proper delivery.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as needed.
• Follow university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

• Data entry with minimal errors.
