Patient Access Representative – Deerfield Beach

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Access is seeking a Patient Access Representative 1 to join the Deerfield Beach team. In this on‑site position you will register patients for clinical services, verify insurance benefits, and collect payments while ensuring a smooth front‑desk experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full patient registration, verify insurance, and confirm accuracy of all information.
• Collect and copy insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and any required referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA notices, obtaining signed forms.
• Guide patients to complete physician‑required questionnaires.
• Schedule, cancel, edit, and track follow‑up appointments; record no‑shows accurately.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as appropriate.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a medical or office setting.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and follow university policies.

• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
