Patient Access Representative 3 – On‑Site

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 3 to manage registration and financial clearance for scheduled patient accounts. This on‑site position serves as a functional expert and lead resource for lower‑level staff.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information required for financial clearance.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance details and verify eligibility.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add‑on patients and secure authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Notify patients of financial liabilities before service dates and collect required payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Serve as a lead resource for junior Patient Access Representatives and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in patient access, registration, or related healthcare administration.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work both independently and collaboratively.
