Patient Access Representative 2 – On‑Site (Coral Springs, FL)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative 2 to join its Coral Springs location. In this on‑site position you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and payment collection.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain, confirm, and enter demographic, financial, and clinical information for patient accounts.
• Contact patients’ families or physicians’ offices to gather missing insurance details.
• Verify insurance eligibility and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues.
• Collaborate with scheduling departments to identify add‑on patients.
• Secure necessary authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.
• Inform patients of financial liabilities and collect payments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in the system of record.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in patient access, registration, or related administrative roles.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
