Patient Access Coordinator

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Patient Access Coordinator for its Main Campus, working in the Appointment Center department. The role organizes the activities and workflow of the patient access area and builds a foundation in healthcare while offering opportunities to grow within the organization. The position is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.
• Develop, implement and oversee programs that improve appointment utilization, such as reminder systems and follow-up on no-shows and cancellations.
• Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems, adjusting the schedules of employees, patients and physicians as needed.
• Audit the reconciliation of day sheets and adjust statistics in the computer data bank.
• Produce reports as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Either two years of outpatient scheduling experience at Cleveland Clinic (working with patients, physicians and other departments to solve problems), or three years of external outpatient scheduling experience, or an Associate's degree with one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to handle frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking, with normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech, and occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.
• Compliance with the influenza prevention program, including an annual flu vaccination or an approved exemption.
