Patient Access Associate – Front Desk (On‑Site)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Patient Access is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Associate to serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. This on‑site position requires a professional, welcoming demeanor while handling a variety of front‑desk responsibilities in a busy healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and direct visitors, vendors, patients, and staff in person and by phone.
• Answer incoming calls, place outgoing calls, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage general administrative tasks such as sorting mail, handling faxes, and troubleshooting office equipment.
• Maintain reception area cleanliness, department directories, and visitation logs.
• Place orders for departmental supplies as requested.
• Verify patient identification against the EMR, assist with self‑serve kiosks, and manage check‑in/out processes.
• Apply wristbands, identify patients at risk of falls, and communicate delays to the clinical team.
