Patent Litigation Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Counsel to join our Global Legal team. Reporting to the Global Head of Patent Litigation, you will lead patent litigation matters from inception through resolution and support broader IP disputes as business needs arise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead patent litigation matters end‑to‑end, including strategy, discovery, motions, trial preparation, and execution.
• Serve as the primary legal lead, exercising independent judgment and driving strategy with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
• Hire, direct, and manage outside counsel across all litigation phases, overseeing work product, budgets, and billing.
• Manage multiple active matters simultaneously, overseeing deadlines, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Partner with internal teams to conduct factual investigations, identify custodians, and gather technical information.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and R&D to collect technical materials such as source code for U.S. litigation.
• Develop a deep understanding of relevant products, systems, and technical issues to inform case strategy.
• Assist with pre‑litigation assessments, licensing analysis, and broader dispute strategy.
• Support additional IP litigation matters, including copyright and trade‑secret disputes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the United States.
• Significant experience managing patent litigation matters with hands‑on responsibility.
• Strong case‑management, strategic thinking, and independent judgment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and partner across legal and business functions.
