Legal Nurse Consultant – Part‑time (Hybrid/Remote)

About the role

Burr & Forman LLP is looking for an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant to join its Health Care Practice Group on a part‑time basis (approximately 50‑90 hours per month). The consultant will work hybrid or fully remote, supporting the team by analyzing medical records and providing clinical insight for legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Process record requests and obtain medical records from facilities.
• Verify completeness of records, identify gaps, and request additional documentation as needed.
• Review, summarize, and analyze medical records and related legal documents.
• Conduct medical record gap analysis and draft detailed chronologies.
• Provide clinical analysis of medical issues relevant to cases.
• Perform clinical research to support case strategy.
• Assist with other duties as required by the practice group.

Required profile

• BSN or RN degree with a minimum of five years of nursing experience, preferably in senior‑care settings.
• Familiarity with Point Click Care (PCC) and Matrixcare systems.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and clinical standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
