Part‑Time Swahili & Korean Lecturer (Adjunct)

About the role

The Department of English and Modern Languages at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks qualified part‑time lecturers to teach Swahili and Korean beginning Fall 2025. Classes are delivered in‑person on the Princess Anne campus with a focus on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver all‑level language courses.
• Develop syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain high standards of classroom instruction and stay current with pedagogical developments.
• Utilize the university’s LMS for attendance, grading, and communication.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate semester hours in the language discipline.
• Minimum one year of teaching experience.
• Fluency in the target language and advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
