Part‑Time Lecturer – Language Courses (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese)

About the role

The Intensive Language Institute at the University of Miami seeks part‑time lecturers to teach English, Spanish, French, Italian, or Portuguese on an as‑needed basis. You will join a diverse faculty and deliver interactive language instruction to adult learners.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the department’s curriculum and develop appropriate materials, exercises, and assessments.
• Adapt teaching techniques and incorporate instructional technology into classroom sessions.
• Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.
• Assess student performance, record grades, and submit progress reports.
• Provide evaluations, recommendations, and other feedback on student achievement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the target language or a related field.
• 2–3 years of teaching experience in the selected language.
• Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to teach on an as‑needed basis.
