Part‑Time Forklift Operator – Matteson, IL

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a reliable Part‑Time Forklift Operator for its Matteson, IL service center. You will work evenings, Monday‑Friday from 6 pm to 12 am, moving freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53 feet long.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a forklift on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock to load and unload freight.
• Handle a variety of freight types, ensuring proper placement and safety.
• Read and follow manifests and interact with computer displays to track shipments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required profile

• Ability to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior forklift experience, preferably in a high‑volume LTL setting.
• Basic computer interaction skills for manifest handling.
