Part‑Time Faculty – Gerontology & Adult Home Care

About the role

Portland Community College is creating a Part‑Time Faculty Interest Pool for Gerontology – Adult Home Care training at its Sylvania Campus. Selected faculty will teach assigned courses on an as‑needed basis, covering both substitute and full‑term classes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver course instruction in gerontology and adult home care training.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback.
• Serve as a substitute instructor when required.

Required profile

• GRN 172 Adult Home Care Training certification.
• Master’s degree in gerontology, nursing, social work, or human services with three (3) years recent full‑time non‑teaching experience in long‑term care or care management; OR Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years experience; OR AAS degree with five (5) years experience.
• Demonstrated competency in adult care home operations and levels of care.
• Approval to teach the Ensuring Quality Care (EQC) Curriculum from the Oregon Division of Seniors & People with Disabilities.
