Elementary Art Teacher

About the role

HOLLA School seeks a passionate Elementary Art Teacher to deliver a culturally responsive art curriculum for K‑5 scholars. The position is 0.5 FTE, part‑time, and includes weekly professional development that counts toward licensure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a K‑5 art curriculum that integrates diverse media, techniques, and cultural art histories.
• Create a safe, inclusive art studio environment, using adaptive techniques so every scholar can fully participate.
• Assess student progress through performance rubrics, checklists, and portfolios aligned with National Core Arts Standards.
• Collaborate with teachers, attend IEP and other meetings, and support scholars with neurodivergence or ASD.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field and a valid Oregon teaching license with a charter art endorsement.
• Experience working with neurodivergent students, bilingual families, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Commitment to continuous growth, reflective practice, and equity‑focused teaching.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver art lessons that incorporate community storytelling, traditional crafts, and social‑justice themes.
• Proficiency in adapting art techniques for diverse abilities and creating assessments based on rubrics.
