About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a part‑time Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment across its facilities. This role supports patient care by ensuring all areas meet the university’s sanitation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established cleaning methods and procedures for all assigned areas.
• Use only approved cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Adhere to fire safety, waste disposal, dress code, and patient‑information guidelines.
• Report areas needing special cleaning or repairs to the supervisor.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and supply organization.
• Comply with university policies and protect university assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience as a housekeeper in a hotel, motel, commercial, industrial sanitation, or health‑care setting.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to the university’s core values.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of approved cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
• Understanding of safety and waste‑disposal procedures.
