Parts Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Parts Specialist for its store in Carson City, Nevada. The role provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and promote company customer service programs such as Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling and Rock the Lot.
• Greet retail and walk-in customers promptly and help them select merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers.
• Answer phone calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend premium and related items and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, handle cash and checks, make change and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns for credit and resolve customer complaints in line with company policy.
• Help with daily image maker, planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
• Prepare returns to the distribution center, assist with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts.
• After training, operate the brake lathe and other store test equipment, and perform in-store services such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, scanning trouble codes and replacing headlight capsules where state and local laws allow.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate, meeting company driving eligibility requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Outstanding, friendly and professional customer service, able to multitask between phone and in-store customers.
• ASE certification and fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).

Required skills

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system and automotive sales or service is desired.
• Ability to operate brake lathe and other test equipment after training.
