Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer (Field Notes)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time unarmed security officer in Washington, DC. The officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including commercial real estate, by conducting routine patrols, keeping a visible presence to deter security incidents and providing customer service to tenants and visitors. The schedule is day time, Saturday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Sunday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors and property management personnel by carrying out security procedures, site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, tenant concerns, access issues and critical situations.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of commercial property areas, including building interiors, common areas, parking facilities, loading docks and perimeters, and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity to help deter unauthorized entry or activity.
• Write clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations and security activities and share them with supervision and site contacts.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred; comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
