Part-Time Staff Pharmacist

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is looking for a part-time Staff/Float Pharmacist to process prescriptions at its Hampton, VA pharmacy. The position is onsite, 32 hours per week: three days at the Hampton pharmacy and one day floating to pharmacies in the surrounding area. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with no nights, weekends or holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
• Provide customers with information about medications and their use
• Deliver a high level of customer service
• Ensure compliance with the laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy
• Administer immunizations as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy
• Perform any other usual and customary pharmacy duties

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
• Current pharmacist license in the state of Virginia
• Certified immunizer, or willing to become one within 3 months of hire
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Preferred qualifications

• Authorization to administer long-acting injectables, or willingness to obtain it within 3 months of hire

• Hourly pay ranging from $44.00 to $79.00, depending on factors such as local labor market, education, experience and certifications
