Part-Time Security Professional Flex Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Professional Flex Officer for the Camden, NJ area. The officer serves and safeguards clients in industries such as healthcare, education and finance, using a shift-pickup platform to choose open shifts according to availability. Irregular shifts with little or no advance notice may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as required by site Post Orders

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience; no prior experience required
• At least 18 years old (21 if armed); licensing may be required depending on state or local law
• Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Reliable, adaptable to different posts, and able to communicate well with the public

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Written and oral communication, active listening, problem solving and conflict mediation
• Preferred: multilingual ability and prior security, military or law enforcement experience
