Part-Time Security Officer (Site Walkthrough)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, offers a part-time Security Officer Enhanced position in Providence, RI. It is designed for people who want to supplement their income or gain hands-on experience, with reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site and the option to pick up extra shifts. The pay rate is $20.09 per hour.

The role includes a fixed-shift commitment (an "anchor shift") at a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six-month commitment. Extra shifts can be added through a scheduling platform, allowing you to vary between part-time and full-time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, shoppers and employees by carrying out security procedures, site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical situations and critical events, following site protocols.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of the retail and mall location, including common areas, entrances, parking areas and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns and policy violations.
• Document incidents, observations and patrol activities and share relevant information with site management and leadership.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen, as permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required depending on state and local laws.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
