Part-Time Patient Registration Rep (Emergency Dept) AM & PM

About the role

R1 RCM provides technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, and is hiring two part-time Patient Access Representatives in its Ascension Seton Cedar Park, Texas office. The role is in the Emergency Department and serves as the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate access to care. The two part-time positions rotate one to two weekdays a month.

Schedule options: weekend days (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5:30pm) or weekend evenings (Saturday and Sunday, 4:30pm-1:00am).

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Minimize registration delays and answer questions with confidence, clarity and compassion
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to multitask, prioritize quickly and handle shifting priorities
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• No healthcare background needed; training is provided

Required skills

• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus (not required)
