Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Rep

About the role

R1 is a revenue cycle technology company serving hospitals, health systems and medical groups, and is hiring a part-time, as-needed (PRN) Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension Seton Cedar Park. The role is the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, accurate access to care. The schedule is a minimum of 48 hours a month with 24 hours on call.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process and register them efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize registration delays so patients can access care promptly
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required
• No healthcare background needed: training is provided
