Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of revenue cycle technology for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a part-time Patient Registration Customer Service Representative in Elk Grove Village. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration with accuracy and compassion. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling phone calls and computer-based check-ins
• Register patients efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details with training
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)

What we offer

• Base pay of $16.12 - $23.21 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
• PRN schedule: as needed, minimum 48 hours a month, 24 hours on call, additional shifts available
