Part-Time Patient Registration Customer Service Rep

About the role

R1 is a revenue cycle technology company serving hospitals, health systems and medical groups, and is hiring a part-time, PRN (as needed) Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension Seton Cedar Park. The schedule is a minimum of 48 hours a month with 24 hours on call. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, compassionate and accurate access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with the check-in process and register them efficiently across multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize delays in registration so patients can access care on time
• Work with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced setting, with good multitasking and attention to detail
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required; training is provided
