Part-Time Patient Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of revenue cycle technology for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative in Evansville. The role is part-time and PRN (as needed), with a minimum of 48 hours per month and 24 hours on call, with additional shifts available. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients navigate the registration process and answer questions with confidence and compassion
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Able to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
