Part-Time Patient Access Representative (PRN)

About the role

R1 RCM Inc., a provider of revenue cycle technology for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a part-time, as-needed Patient Access Representative in Cedar Park. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them get fast, accurate access to care while building a career in healthcare customer service. Training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, answering phones and handling computer-based check-ins
• Gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Navigate insurance plans and coverage, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and give cost estimates when applicable
• Minimize registration delays so patients can access care promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and care teams to keep patient flow smooth

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification or front desk is a plus but not required

• Ability to multitask, prioritize and shift priorities based on patient needs

• Base pay of $16.12 - $23.21 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
