Part-time Nurse Practitioner - Addiction Treatment

About the role

Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to provide addiction treatment at Talbot House, a 24‑hour residential stabilization center. This part‑time role supports patients in achieving recovery, stability, and long‑term wellness.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to advanced nursing practices and protocols, creating individualized care plans.
• Order and evaluate medical regimens, including medications and relevant tests.
• Identify clients needing further evaluation or specialized care and make appropriate referrals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and treatment progress.
• Provide health counseling to expedite recovery and promote long‑term wellness.
• Consult with the Medical Director, staff psychiatrist, and professional staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with regulations and agency policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing and eligibility for NYS Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner.
• NY Nurse Practitioner license.
• At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience with strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of physical health and substance‑use disorder treatment modalities; medication‑assisted treatment experience preferred.
• Trauma‑informed, client‑centered care approach.
