About the role
The University of Miami’s Department of Writing Studies is seeking a part‑time lecturer to teach one or two sections of Writing. This role involves classroom instruction, tutoring, and weekly office hours.
Key responsibilities
- Teach one or two sections of Writing Studies, including First‑Year Writing and Writing Center tutoring.
- Provide a minimum of one hour per week of office hours for each course.
- Deliver in‑person, face‑to‑face instruction for all classes.
- Adapt teaching to student demand and available funding.
Required profile
- At least one year of college‑level teaching experience.
- MA or MFA in English or a related field (PhD preferred).
- Ability to teach First‑Year Writing or tutor in a Writing Center.
