About the role

Meijer is hiring a part-time Cashier for its gas station in South Bend, Indiana, working the overnight (3rd) shift. The role focuses on delivering efficient, effective customer service in the checkout lane so that customers have a positive and lasting experience.

Key responsibilities

• Complete transactions and handle money in all forms responsibly, keeping point-of-sale purchases accurate.
• Use technology to carry out tasks and create positive customer moments.
• Answer customer questions adequately and build trusting relationships that encourage return visits.
• Maintain a friendly, outgoing attitude with good eye contact and body language.

Required profile

• 18 years of age or older.
• Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required.
• Detail-oriented, organized and eager to work with customers.

Required skills

• Ability to operate the cashier register system.
• Strong listening and verbal communication skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn job-specific technology.
