Part-Time Effective Communication Instructor – Nursing Program

About the role

FVI Florida School of Nursing & Technology is seeking a part‑time Effective Communication Instructor to join its Nursing Program. The role focuses on delivering engaging, student‑centered instruction in effective communication, public speaking, and English composition, primarily through day‑time classes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum for Effective Communication, Public Speaking, and English Composition courses.
• Facilitate online synchronous sessions and ensure active student participation.
• Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate grade records.
• Collaborate with faculty and program staff to align course content with accreditation standards.
• Utilize Canvas LMS to organize course materials, assignments, and assessments.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Communications, English, Education, Humanities, or a related field.
• 15‑18 graduate semester credits in Communications, Speech, English, or a related discipline.
• Prior higher‑education teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching Effective Communication, Public Speaking, or English Composition.
• Demonstrated ability to teach online synchronous classes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas LMS.
