Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (Home Health Aide)

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. As a Home Health Aide (CNA) you provide hands-on personal care and assistance to patients in their residences, supporting comfort, dignity and daily functioning. You assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of licensed clinical staff and follow individualized care plans.

Key responsibilities

• Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment
• Help patients get in and out of bed, bathe, wash and use the toilet
• Prepare and provide meals, and perform light homemaking and environmental services
• Observe, report and document changes in patient status and body function
• Recognize emergencies and follow care center emergency procedures
• Follow infection prevention, hazardous waste and safety procedures
• Follow written personal care instructions and assist with prescribed exercises

Required profile

• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant
• Current CPR certification
• CNA experience within the last two years; if longer, complete another training and competency program
• Must pass the care center's competency program
