Part-Time Bus Driver

About the role

John Carroll University is hiring a part-time bus driver to operate university buses and vans as scheduled, supporting the needs of university departments and events. The work must be done courteously and respectfully, representing the university's mission and values for faculty, staff, students and guests. The position is non-exempt hourly, with hours scheduled as needed, focusing on weekday business hours while also considering evening and weekend availability.

Key responsibilities

• Operate university buses and vans as scheduled.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and log operation destinations and usage.
• Report service and repair concerns on the supplied pre-trip logs.
• Fuel vehicles as needed and clean up the bus after each trip.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CDL Class A or B with a passenger endorsement for bus driving in the State of Ohio.
• Willingness to comply with state and local highway laws and license checks.
• Interest in supporting John Carroll's mission to inspire excellence in learning, leadership and service.
• Preferred: good verbal and written communication skills and flexibility with time.
