Paramedic, Full Time Days

About the role

The Paramedic provides basic and advanced emergency medical care to patients in an acute‑care setting at Palestine Regional Medical Center. Working under the supervision of emergency physicians and nurses, you will support the emergency department’s operations while delivering high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced emergency care, assessments, interventions, and documentation for patients of all ages.
• Monitor and interpret EKG and telemetry strips, responding to changes in patient condition.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and development of care plans.
• Set up and support invasive procedures, providing post‑procedure monitoring.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, equipment, and discharge instructions.
• Perform basic patient care tasks such as hygiene, ambulation, and dietary assistance.
• Maintain and clean clinical equipment, adhering to safety, infection‑control, and confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Knowledge of medication administration practices appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Ability to prioritize care in fast‑paced, high‑acuity environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with electronic documentation.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lb occasionally and 50 lb frequently, and to stand, walk, and perform patient‑handling tasks.
