Paralegal Aide II – Early Intervention Program

About the role

The New York City Police Department is seeking a Paralegal Aide II to support its Early Intervention Program. This role involves managing legal and data resources that help identify and assist officers at risk of performance issues, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and legal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Locate, assemble, organize, and monitor records, documents, and data related to Stop, Question, and Frisk, racial profiling complaints, adverse credibility findings, suppression decisions, and declined prosecutions.
• Develop and maintain an Early Intervention System (EIS) tracking arrests, use of force incidents, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist in reviewing background information for departmental responses and case preparation.
• Conduct routine legal research, draft summaries, and prepare legal communications for senior staff review.
• Support case studies and projects that analyze patterns and trends, providing additional data analysis as needed.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Permanent status in the Paralegal Aide title or eligibility on exam list No. 1140 or No. 4070.
