Paralegal 1-3 – Statewide Positions

About the role

The Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill is seeking qualified Paralegal 1‑3 professionals for statewide assignments. This continuous announcement allows applications to be reviewed as received, with the possibility of filling multiple vacancies across various parishes. Salary will be commensurate with experience, and offers are contingent upon successful background check, drug testing, and reference verification.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support to the Civil, Criminal, Federalism, Gaming, Litigation, Medicaid Fraud Control, and Public Protection divisions.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, document drafting, and evidence management.
• Conduct legal research and maintain case files and databases.
• Support collections efforts for public colleges, universities, and state agencies.
• Prepare and file court documents, motions, and briefs as directed.

Required profile

• Paralegal experience appropriate to level 1‑3, with a demonstrated ability to handle a variety of legal matters.
• Willingness to work in multiple parishes throughout the state.
• Ability to pass background check, drug testing, and reference verification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
