Paint Handle Cleaning Team Lead

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for a Paint Handle Cleaning Team Lead to join its maintenance team in Corona, CA. The lead sets up and operates the chemical paint-handle stripping line that cleans and prepares paint handles for Fender's manufacturing process, ensuring a safe, consistent and defect-free supply to internal customers. The role also provides day-to-day training and guidance to employees in the area, supports chemical management and equipment upkeep, and coordinates with Maintenance and production partners.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and safely operate chemical paint-handle stripping equipment.
• Monitor and clean chemical soak and wash tanks to keep them running properly.
• Produce clean, defect-free paint handles for the paint production process.
• Train employees on equipment operation, chemical handling and adjusting chemical concentrations.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE policies are followed, and handle and store regulated materials in line with company policy and state and federal requirements.
• Coordinate daily with Maintenance supervision on area performance, equipment concerns and issues needing support.
• Perform light equipment maintenance and escalate maintenance needs.
• Order and maintain chemicals, supplies and materials, and communicate with internal customers about delivery and quality requirements.
• Keep equipment and the work area clean, safe and sanitary, maintaining 5S standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience operating cleaning equipment and/or paint-stripping equipment.
• Ability to safely handle and store regulated materials and follow written work rules, operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Able to stand, reach, push, pull and lift up to 30 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required skills

• Experience with common hand and power tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and electrical tools.
• Basic computer skills.
