Packaging & Filling Operator (Night Shift)

About the role

Axalta is looking for a Filling and Packaging Operator for its Orrville, OH facility, where industrial refinishing products are filled, labeled, packaged and inspected according to established procedures and quality standards. The role operates packaging equipment, completes production documentation and supports daily operations so products are ready for storage and shipment. The schedule is Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with occasional Friday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Fill, label and package products according to guidelines, specifications and safety standards.
• Complete job sheets and production documentation accurately, with correct counts and traceability.
• Attach identification labels and markings, including lot numbers and shipping information.
• Sort, grade, weigh and inspect products to verify quality and packaging compliance.
• Set up, operate, clean and tear down packaging equipment, and monitor machines for consistent quality.
• Stop or reset equipment when it malfunctions, clear minor jams and report mechanical issues to supervision.
• Remove finished products from lines and separate non-conforming materials.
• Operate powered pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workplace and follow all safety policies, reporting hazards, incidents and near misses.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures and work orders.
• Ability to follow written, verbal and diagram-based instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, move and handle materials and to work safely in a production setting.

Preferred skills

• Previous manufacturing, filling, packaging or production experience.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Experience operating packaging or production equipment and powered pallet jacks.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems and documentation.

What we offer

• Expected pay of $22.04 per hour, with a night-shift differential after training.
• Sign-on bonus of $1,500 ($750 at 3 months, $750 at 6 months).
