Overnight Stocking Team Leader

About the role

Meijer is looking for an Overnight Stocking Team Leader who plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of the store's departments during overnight hours. The role acts as mentor and coach for all team members, drives customer service and sales while keeping the store well presented, and works mostly inside the store.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and team members, and model fast, friendly customer service
• Staff, select and hire to meet staffing needs, and promote succession planning through career paths and development needs
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations on discharge
• Take responsibility for the P&L, achieve sales targets and maintain shrink for the department
• Mentor and coach team members so they exceed customer service and sales goals and keep the area to Meijer standards
• Ensure the team is fully trained in their jobs and has completed all required training
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations
• Promote a safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of related retail experience
• One year of management experience
• Rotational experience in areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli, plus customer service and product flow experience, is helpful
• Reliable and consistent attendance required

• Managing multiple tasks and analyzing financial and statistical information
• Teaching suggestive selling and leading a safe workplace
• Mentoring team members, hourly workers and team leaders
• Successful completion of all required certifications
