Overnight Stock Supervisor

About the role

Meijer is looking for an Overnight Stock Supervisor in Indianapolis. The supervisor plans, directs and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of the store, acts as mentor and coach, and implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while keeping service quick and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain store appearance during prime shopping hours, with attention to product presentation and company standards.
• Provide courteous, friendly and efficient service to customers and team members, and spend most of the time in the store.
• Handle staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs, and promote succession planning through career paths and development needs.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge where appropriate.
• Be responsible for the P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members so they exceed customer service and sales goals and complete all required training.
• Promote a safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational experience in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli, plus customer service and product flow experience, is helpful.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.

Required skills

• Clear, precise communication to team members and ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and to analyse financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling and to mentor team members, including hourly workers and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.
