Cart Attendant (Entry-Level Team Member)

About the role

Meijer is hiring an entry-level team member as a courtesy cart attendant. The role gives exposure to a range of retail tasks related to additional store services, product and customer service, and suits people who enjoy interacting with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Ferry shopping carts from outside the store back into the store
• Collect trash from the parking lot, lawn and inside the store
• Safely operate snow removal equipment to clear snow
• Handle perishable and salvage returns
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning
• Work with the service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking lot areas
• Support departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral

Required profile

• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail
• Great listening and communication skills
• Able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product or using equipment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
