Outside Sales Representative - Board and Panel

About the role

Richelieu Hardware, a North American importer, distributor and manufacturer of specialty hardware, is looking for a driven, customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to join its Reading branch in Pennsylvania. The role focuses on developing and growing sales within an assigned territory by promoting Richelieu's range of wood products, acting as a trusted advisor to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities within your territory
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction, loyalty and repeat business
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio, including wood product solutions for woodworking, construction and related industries
• Hold in-person meetings, give product demonstrations and presentations, and negotiate to close sales
• Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales objectives while maximizing profitability
• Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitor activity
• Work with internal teams so orders are processed and delivered smoothly and customer issues are resolved quickly

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in outside sales and/or business development, with a proven ability to prospect and grow new accounts
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, results-driven, able to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
